Fashion and Style combined with Polyvore sets
I liked the latest collection of 10 Crosby Derek Lam, I loved the mixture of prints and the pairing of different textures/textiles. The color palette was very expansive for a collection that had 15 looks, a feat that I consider to be very impressive. The color palette used was black, red, indigo, burgundy, brown, white, scarlet, petrol, navy blue, midnight blue, turquoise blue, beige, gray, French blue, gold, taupe. It seemed to me that the blues were the dominant color in this collection, with neutrals used to highlight the vibrancy in some colors.
The pieces were made from both leather and faux leather, so in that context it’s a win-win amongst potential customers, especially those very passionate about animal rights. Knits were also featured, with sweaters being color blocked as if they jumped out of a mod 1960s fashion ad or magazine spread. I do admit that with some of the dresses in Lam’s collection, I liked how he paired them with boots. A feat that’s very daring and hopefully, can be achieved by one brave soul out there who purchases the dress and boots to wear in real life. Whomever achieves this out there, please know that I salute you.
The collection bore sheer fabrics and jacquard fabrics, along with plaid prints, animal prints, and floral prints. Sequins were in with Derek Lam this season, another thing in with Derek Lam this season would have to be floor length evening gowns with front slits. Another thing I loved in this collection was the pairing of a sweater and short-shorts. Overcoats were present in the collection, along with knits and vests.
