Fashion and Style combined with Polyvore sets
If there was one word I could use to sum up the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection of Carmen Marc Valvo’s line, then I’d definitely use glamourous. The looks presented on the runway exuded glamour. With models sporting a red lip and pink dip dyed hair that was slicked back, this collection had used a small color palette. The color palette, which consisted of black, red, burgundy, white, and purple, came together in a stunning collection of dresses, jackets, coats, pants, pencil skirts, clutches, leather gloves, floor length dresses, and mary jane stilettos. Slinky gowns drew me in while the sequins and beading details kept my attention for the entire show.
Amongst the collection of dresses, there was one made of lace, while another was off the shoulder. There were a few belted dresses while some had mutton sleeves. There was a leather jacket and leather gloves. One jacket had a nehru collar. There were plunging necklines and sheer fabrics, a high waist floor length skirt, and a skirt with a front slit.
Despite the limited palette, I loved the collection. It had a a glamourous take on the New Romantics of the early 1980s. For those living in the UK, the New Romantics started in the late 1970s and peaked in 1981. It came to the US in 1982, which was around the time I was born. If I had the money, I’d own some of the gowns and other pieces.
