Fashion and Style combined with Polyvore sets
Having the success of running her own label for over 20 years, Ms. Wakeley has just opened her very own flagship store in London’s Albermarle Street recently. It’s in this same Albermarle Street flagship store that served as the location for her runway show this season. Her color palate was a rather minimal one, something that I don’t usually care for. However, it’s something that I’m more than willing to overlook when the collection that I saw is a rather stunning one, one that drew my eye from the time the first look made its way through and kept me looking at every look that followed.
As I mentioned above, the latest collection was awash in white with some black and red put in. The clothes were white, while the shoes were black. Those same shoes were lace up sandals, plus the hand bags were also black, but also white and red. A collection that combined light fabrics one would use for Spring/Summer fashions with sheer fabrics and sporty mesh fabrics came together to create a collection that was luxe sportswear with a shabby chic feel. Within that collection, side tied wide leg trousers, rolled cuff trousers, a high waisted skirt with a sash, a wrap dress, crop tops, and tunics all stole the show. While I love to have a little color in a collection, Amanda Wakeley is clearly the exception to that rule.
